Lori Sugarman, M.Ed., MCCHt.
Lori Sugarman, M.Ed, MCCHt, a former elementary school counselor, studied hypnotherapy for three years and 400 hours at the accredited Atlanta National Hypnosis Institute from 2006-2009 with founder, director and hypnotherapist of 35 years, Laura LaRain, Ph.D. Additional pediatric training was completed with renowned pediatrician Dr. Laurence Sugarman of Upstate Medical University Faculty and author of Hypnosis in Pediatric Practice: Imaginative Medicine in Action and Dr. Ron Anbar, director of Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine at Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital, Syracuse, NY.
When asked, “Why study hypnosis?” Sugarman replies that “tapping the learning ability of the brain while in the theta state (right brain thinking activity – access to insights, bursts of creative ideas) is rarely accessed, but incredibly effective for change and I wanted to learn to maximize outcomes.”
Sugarman developed a children’s yoga program, Playful Yoga geared towards ages 3-6 and holds teacher trainings 4x a year for those looking for work opportunities with children. For information, please visit ChildrensYogaAndMore.com) She teaches creative writing in several Fulton County after school programs, guiding elementary age students to discover the richness of imagination while reinforcing mechanics. Her precious children, all in their 20’s, provided a rich training ground for parenting, mistakes and lessons!
Sugarman offers a “Healthy HeartBeat” weight control program in conjunction with physician adult and pediatric practices. This 6 week program utilizes hypnosis, journaling and on going newsletter support and can be provided at the physican’s site or our site in Marietta.
